Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
ASK ("the Site") respects and protects your personal privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have.
The data we collect
- Account details: the email and nickname you provide at sign-up, used for login and to display your identity.
- The content you post: the questions, answers, and comments you post — these are public content.
- Technical details: for operations and abuse prevention, we may log a hash of your IP address, browser info, and the like.
- Cookie: used for essential functions like keeping you logged in and age verification.
How we use it
- To provide and maintain the service (login, posting, notifications, personalization).
- To maintain content quality and prevent abuse (blocking duplicate votes, handling reports).
- Anything you post publicly appears on the site and may be cited by search engines and AI.
What we won't do
We will never sell your personally identifiable data. Passwords are stored as a one-way hash (PBKDF2), so we have no way of knowing your original password.
Third-party services
This site is hosted on Cloudflare, and verification emails may be sent through a third-party email service. Those services have their own privacy policies.
Your rights
You can view and correct your account details, or ask us to delete your account and related personal data. Content you've posted publicly that others have already cited may not be possible to fully remove.
Protecting children and teens
The adult (18+) section requires age verification. If you're under 18, please don't enter it.
