Amilyar (Real Property Tax)

Housing

The common Filipino term for real property tax, an annual tax that property owners pay to their city or municipal government for land, buildings, and improvements. It is computed based on the property's assessed value and the local tax rate. Owners can pay in full early in the year, sometimes with a discount, or in quarterly installments. Late payments incur penalties and interest, and long-term delinquency can lead to auction of the property. Paying amilyar keeps the tax declaration updated. Rates, discounts, and deadlines are subject to the latest rules/guidelines.
