The government agency responsible for assessing and collecting national internal revenue taxes in the Philippines, such as income tax, value-added tax, and percentage tax. It issues TINs, registers businesses and professionals, releases official receipts and invoicing rules, and accepts tax returns and payments. Individuals and businesses transact with BIR through Revenue District Offices and online systems like eFPS and eBIRForms. The BIR also enforces tax compliance and penalties for late or non-filing. Its forms, deadlines, and rates are subject to the latest rules/guidelines.
