Is it okay to ask about salary during the first interview or bastos yun?

Girl, hindi yun bastos, practical lang. Sa experience ko sa mga interviews sa BGC, I always wait for the interviewer to ask about my expected salary, then I give a range instead of one number. If matagal na and hindi pa nababanggit near the end, I politely say 'May I ask about the salary range for this position?' Never akong na-reject dahil doon. What is bastos is when you demand a number on minute one bago pa man malaman ang trabaho. Ask about the range near the closing, hindi opener. That way pro ka pa rin pero protected ka.

Been an HR supervisor for 8 years. Totoo, most Pinoy applicants are too shy to ask, tapos magugulat sa payslip. Please ask, we expect it. What I appreciate is when the candidate frames it around the whole package, hindi lang basic. Tanungin mo rin about 13th month, HMO, and if may allowances. Some companies gross up the pay para maganda tingnan pero maliit na ang net. Just keep your tone curious, not entitled. Kung ayaw sagutin ng interviewer ang salary range mo, red flag na yun para sa akin. Better to know now than after mag-resign ka sa current work.
