Paano talaga computation ng 13th month pay? Prorated ba pag mid-year ako nag-start?

Nag-start ako ng trabaho last May, so hindi ako buong taon. Sabi ng katrabaho ko prorated daw, pero yung iba sabi buo dapat. Confused ako, magkano ba dapat matanggap ko this December?

Simple lang formula: total basic salary earned for the year / 12. So kung nag-start ka May at ang basic mo 20k/month, June to December yun (or May depende kung buo yung May), sabihin natin 8 months x 20k = 160k, tapos / 12 = 13,333 yung 13th month mo. Prorated talaga siya, hindi buo, kasi hindi ka buong taon. Basic pay lang ha, hindi kasama OT, allowance, at holiday pay sa computation. Yung katrabaho mong nagsabi buo, mali siya.

Nagkaproblema ako dati kasi may absences ako na walang pay, so bumaba yung total basic ko, kaya bumaba din yung 13th month. Tandaan mo yun, kung may unpaid leave ka hindi mabibilang yun sa total basic earned. Check mo payslips mo para sigurado.

Dagdag lang, yung 13th month is tax-free hanggang 90k threshold, so most likely hindi ka matatax dyan. At deadline ng employer to release is on or before December 24 by law. Kung hindi ka binigyan, pwede ka mag-file sa DOLE. Basic pay lang talaga basehan, alisin mo lahat ng allowances.
