COE (Certificate of Employment)

Employment

A document issued by an employer stating that a person worked for the company, including the dates of employment and usually the position held. Employees are entitled to request it, and DOLE guidance directs employers to issue it within a few days of the request, even for resigned or terminated workers. A COE generally does not state the reason for separation or evaluate performance unless the employee asks. It is commonly required for new job applications, loans, or visa processing. Details are subject to the latest rules/guidelines.
