SSS (Social Security System)

Employment

The government social insurance program for workers in the private sector, self-employed, and voluntary members. Monthly contributions, shared by employer and employee, fund benefits such as retirement pension, sickness, maternity, disability, unemployment, and death benefits, plus salary and calamity loans. Each member has a lifetime SS number. Contributions are based on a Monthly Salary Credit table. Members can check records and transact through the My.SSS portal. It differs from GSIS, which covers government employees. Contribution rates are subject to the latest rules/guidelines.
